About

A Story in the Making

I create inspirational, timeless, rustic jewelry rooted in traditional, time-tested craftsmanship. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted with intention and care, designed to be worn by anyone, at any age.

My story began in 2011 when I launched DESIGNbyANCE with leather wrap gemstone bracelets—Native American and Western-inspired designs that celebrated nature, strength, and personal expression. Those early pieces were deeply influenced by the open landscapes, spirit, and stories of the Southwest.

Over time, my passion grew and my skills evolved. I taught myself the art of hand-stamping metal, discovering both the challenge and the beauty of working with pewter and copper. What began as a small exploration gradually became the heart of my collection.

Today, my work centers around these two metals, while I continue to offer some of the original gemstone wrap bracelets that many customers still love.

Both pewter and copper carry a rich history. Pewter’s story stretches back over 3,000 years, with early examples found in Egyptian tombs dating to around 1450 BC. The Romans used it for jewelry and tableware, and by the Middle Ages, European pewterers had refined the craft, forming guilds in the 14th century to uphold exceptional quality.

Copper, one of humanity’s oldest metals, has been used for over 10,000 years across civilizations. From the Egyptians to the Romans, it was crafted into tools, jewelry, and meaningful objects. Traditionally, copper is also believed to carry gentle healing properties—thought to support circulation, reduce inflammation, and bring a sense of grounding and balance to the wearer.

Together, these metals create pieces with depth, character, and a quiet, rustic elegance that only grows more beautiful with time.

Every bracelet and piece is crafted entirely by hand—from cutting and shaping the metal to stamping each letter and design. Because each one is made by human hands, not machines, subtle variations naturally occur, making every piece truly one of a kind—just like the person who wears it. This hands-on process connects my work to generations of artisans who valued soul and quality above all.

From the Heart

I hope my jewelry serves as a reminder to keep moving forward—to embrace strength, courage, and love for yourself, for others, and for this beautiful journey we’re all on together.

Thank you for visiting and supporting my small business. It truly means the world to me. If you have any questions, or just want to say hello, I’d love to hear from you.
